The Bank Tower Staircase Study. The Bank Tower is located in Pittsburgh's old 4th Avenue Financial District. This half spiral staircase on the back of the building stretches some 15 floors.

This collection is predominantly black and white as that really suits the subject matter and the compositions. Part of the series includes abstract arrangements that combine several copies of an image to create what I like to think of as "Escheresque" results.

This collection is predominantly black and white as that really suits the subject matter and the compositions. Part of the series includes abstract arrangements that combine several copies of an image to create what I like to think of as "Escheresque" results.

The half-spiral nature of the staircase reveals the beauty of repetitive elements, straight lines combined with curvaceous rails and lovely depth-of-field.
